In June 1988, Labodia SA was founded by Luc Binet as an independent distributor of diagnostic products. The aim of the new company was to provide immunodiagnostic reagents to Swiss hospital and reference labs. Today, Labodia has its own production facilities. The company headquarters are still located in their original premises in Yens but production facilities have moved in an industrial zone in Préverenges, near Lausanne.

In 1991, Labodia opened a branch in Moscow in order to serve large hospital labs in Russia but this business segment was closed in 2006.

In 1993, Labodia started its own production of ELISA kits in the autoimmunity field. After a rough starting period, we started building a sound reputation as a manufacturer of affordable, easy-to-use, quality reagents.

In 1996, Labodia started the production of confirmatory tests (Western blots) for Lyme disease in close cooperation with Swiss opinion leaders in this field.

In 2002, Labodia expanded its product range in the field of autoimmunity under the registered brand name Orkit with new ELISA kits.

In 2005, the Lyme product line has been transferred to NovaTec Immundiagnostica while current R&D efforts are focused on autoimmunity.

In 2006, a new ELISA kit for the diagnostic of autoimmune hepatitis with the detection of anti-LKM1 antibodies was developped.

In July 2006 Labodia opened a subsidiary in France.

Besides the production of kits for autoimmune diseases, Labodia distributes kits for clinical investigations as well as for research in several fields :

bone metabolism
diabetes and obesity
steroid assays
thyroid autoimmunity
oxydative stress
